How PlotBid works
PlotBid is a single 22 by 12 canvas of 264 plots. Anyone can claim a rectangle of plots for an image and a link, and every claim is public forever.
264 plots on one canvas
The canvas is a fixed grid of 12 rows and 22 columns. A placement covers a rectangle of plots you choose with two corners, and your image is cropped once to fit that exact frame.
$1 opening bids
Every open plot starts at a $1 opening bid. The price of your placement is simply the sum of the required bids for the plots inside your rectangle.
Full next-bid takeovers
A claimed plot is never locked away. Anyone can take it over by paying the next bid for that plot. The new claim replaces the old one on that plot immediately and completely.
Fragmentation, not resizing
When part of a placement is outbid, the image is never re-cropped or shrunk. It keeps its original frame, and only the plots still held keep showing their fragment of it. A placement can survive as disconnected fragments.
Permanent history
Every placement gets a permanent page, even after it is fully outbid. Each plot keeps a public ledger of every claim that ever held it, with its bid and how it ended.
Identity-free purchases
You do not create an account. Checkout runs through Stripe, and PlotBid stores only the placement itself: the image, the display name, the destination link, and the bids. No profiles, no logins.
Refunds, disputes, and removals
A fully refunded payment ends its claims and reopens those plots at $1. A payment dispute takes the media off the canvas while it is open and permanently after a loss. Placements that break the content policy are removed. In every case the public record of what happened remains.
